Substitute for Experience,
Knowledge & Advocacy
Even with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting our clients’ health, rights, wellbeing and security remains Saland Law’s top priority. Whether you are a victim or accused of criminal misconduct, petitioner or respondent in a Family Court Domestic Violence Order of Protection proceeding, student involved in a Title IX or code of conduct investigation, or the target of Revenge Porn, Harassment, Stalking or Extortion, Saland Law’s legal advocates remain accessible and available 24/7. While life for many may have come to a halt due to the pervasiveness of the Coronavirus, our lawyers are committed to the needs of our current and future clients who require our guidance and services in New York City, the Hudson Valley and elsewhere in New York State and beyond.
Have no misgivings. New Yorkers are a tough bunch and Saland Law’s family of lawyers and clients are not only the strongest of them all, but united in our care and concern for one another.
Whether due to an accidental misfiling and misrepresentation or an intentional effort to defraud, securing benefits from the numerous Small Business Administration grants by way of the Paycheck Protection Program or Economic Injury Disaster Loans is potentially criminal. Similarly, collecting Unemployment Insurance or other benefits, such as those provided by the New York City Covid-19 Immigrant Emergency Relief Program, for which you are not entitled may lead to your arrest, indictment and even incarceration.
Whatever the allegation or accusation, do not let an honest mistake or temporary lapse in judgement relegate you to a prison cell and the decimation of your otherwise honorable name that existed well before the fear, frustration and anxiety of the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Protect yourself and implement the right defense now, even during these uncertain times.
Day or night, our attorneys and former Manhattan prosecutors can be reached by calling Saland Law’s main number at 212.312.7129, emailing us at info@salandlaw.com or texting us through the app on our mobile site. Should you wish, we can communicate with you by way of video and “meet face to face” on Zoom or Facetime.
Your life doesn’t stand still and nor does our ability to serve new and current clients alike. We are accepting new clients and will continue to do so no matter what COVID-19 throws in our collective way.
Whether you are a current client or just engaging the firm, our responsiveness will never lag. If an issue demands your attention or is of any degree of import, we will certainly advise you and keep you abreast of the situation. For those who merely wish to inquire about their case or have questions, our attorneys can be reached by phone, email, text, Zoom or Facetime.
The NYS Criminal Courts, NYS Family Courts and both City and Justice Courts in the Hudson Valley are closed. However, exigent matters, including arraignments for new arrests and petitions for Orders of Protection, for example, are still remotely heard by judges. These cases and applications are handled either by video or phone with the respective court. Matters pending prior to the shutdown are or will be administratively adjourned. You will not need to appear for the court to adjourn your case and judges will not be issuing bench warrants. We will advise you of the changed date. Currently, many cases are being pushed out into June. Should you be sick or unavailable to appear in court on the new date, please advise us so we can take the steps to ensure no issues arise.

These are challenging times. While our shared enemy, COVID-19, may have insidiously crept into our lives in a way none of us could have ever imagined, let facts, not irrational fear, lead the way. Not only do first responders, neighbors, friends and even strangers we do not know stand shoulder to shoulder, but so does the Saland Law family. Yes, one of us may fall, and the skies may get dark, but we will lift each other up and see one another through. Make no mistake. The clouds will break, and when they do, we will thrive even greater than before.
